Message I've opened up the valve cover oil cap without any change in engine rpm. I know you said that this should affect engine speed but what's the mechanism for that happening?

I've also capped of the canister and EGR muscle pressure leads to eliminate them as potential problem sources. The issue still exists. I'm getting nervous my problem could be something more serious. Here are some more details of what's happening.

At WOT just off-idle acceleration is a little jerky as if something is working intermittently. At 3000 rpm the problem goes away or more likely the issue becomes less pronounced and more continuous. Being this happens even at WOT, where there's little to no vacuum to drive air leaks, I'm inclined to think it's an electrical or VTC problem.

Where can I get a timing advance curve?
